Christine Fell
Christine has delighted audiences throughout New England with her expressive clarinet playing and deep love of chamber music. A longtime performer on the Phillips Exeter Academy Library Summer Concert Series, she has been featured as a soloist there for many seasons and has also performed with the Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra. Passionate about collaborative music-making, Christine performs with fellow clarinetist Nancy Fiske as the Fiske'nFell Clarinet Duo, where they enjoy exploring both beloved and lesser-known repertoire for two clarinets. She studied at Ithaca College and the State University of New York at Purchase, where she had the privilege of studying with internationally renowned clarinetist and teacher David Weber. Weber's beautiful tone and bel canto approach to phrasing continue to influence Christine's artistry today. When she isn't performing, Christine enjoys spending time in her garden at her home in Exeter, New Hampshire, finding inspiration in nature as well as music.
Nancy Fiske
Nancy Fiske believes that chamber music is one of life's greatest joys—a musical conversation among good friends. An active performer throughout the Greater Boston area, she has appeared in numerous chamber music concerts and has been featured on both WGBH Radio and WMUR Television. Nancy graduated with honors from The Boston Conservatory of Music and continued her studies in New York with distinguished clarinetists Cal Opperman and Naomi Drucker. In addition to the clarinet, she is an accomplished recorder player and enjoys performing in a variety of musical settings. Nancy is a member of Pipers for Peace, the Fiske'nFell Clarinet Duo with longtime collaborator Christine, and the lively Jumpstart Contra Dance Band, where she happily does her best to keep pace with the fiddlers. She lives in Fremont, New Hampshire, where she shares her home with what she proudly describes as the best cat in the world.
Maria Isaak
Maria Isaak is a New Hampshire-based bassoonist and educator whose career has combined orchestral performance, chamber music, and music education for more than three decades. She earned her Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston and has maintained an active freelance career throughout New England. Maria has performed with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, Portland Chamber Orchestra, Musicians of Wall Street, Walker Chamber Series, Central Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra, New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra, Great Waters Music Festival, Boston Philharmonic, Bangor Symphony Orchestra, Great Bay Symphony Orchestra, and many other ensembles. Her career has also taken her abroad, where she has performed concertos and appeared with orchestras in California, China, and Chile. In addition to performing, Maria serves on the faculties of the Concord Community Music School and Saint Paul's School, where she enjoys mentoring the next generation of musicians. She lives in Durham, New Hampshire, with her husband, Nick, Bear the dog, cats, ducks, and a lively flock of chickens that keep life entertaining.
