Formed in 2023, the Avalyn Reed Trio brings together the rich, expressive sound of two clarinets and bassoon in performances that are engaging, entertaining, and accessible to audiences of all ages. Comprised of longtime friends and accomplished musicians Christine Fell, Nancy Fiske, and Maria Isaak, the trio presents imaginative programs that blend beloved classical masterworks with folk music, opera favorites, American classics, and hidden gems of the woodwind repertoire. Their concerts are enhanced with engaging commentary, humor, and a shared passion for making chamber music both inviting and memorable. The trio has appeared on NH Chronicle and in concert throughout New Hampshire and southern Maine, performing at libraries, concert series, retirement communities, galleries, churches, and community arts venues, including the Phillips Exeter Academy Library Summer Concert Series, Portsmouth Public Library, Concord Community Music School, York Public Library, Taylor Community, and numerous other venues.
Each member brings decades of professional performing and teaching experience. Together, their backgrounds include performances with major orchestras throughout New England, appearances on radio and television, international concerto performances, and extensive careers as chamber musicians and educators. Their varied musical experiences create a unique ensemble sound marked by warmth, artistry, and exceptional musical communication.
